Our desire is to plant the seeds for a lifetime of faith in the hearts of our children. We strive to build a foundation through bible exploration, real life application and relationship with folks who are living their lives for Jesus. We have discovered that developing this foundation is not something we can do on our own and requires a much greater mutual commitment between parents, staff and volunteers.
Sunday School should be time both you and your children can enjoy. A time where your child can receive age appropriate christian education at the same time you can strengthen your own walk with Christ. We encourage you to explore our site and learn more about our programming for children as well as students and adults.
Children in grades Pre-K-5 are welcome to join the elementary age Sunday school class. Our programming, Simply Loved, is focused on making Bible stories come to life with the kids acting out each story. Each Sunday, we learn new songs and dances, check in with our Bible buddy for the month, play a game & dive into a new Bible story. Each month, there is a theme that the stories focus on, such as God’s love, how great God is in times of trouble, etc. Our Bible buddy is an animal that helps us learn our memory verse for that month. We have so much fun in Sunday school!
Our class is located in “the blue room” off of the sanctuary.
The children of Benton First are a very important part of our church family. We believe and strive on the fact that building a solid spiritual foundation at an early age can shape who they become, changing the world as we know it. By teaching kids to develop a biblical foundation we can impact their everyday choices and actions.
During our Sunday 8:30 a.m. Worship Service kids Kindergarten-5th grade will experience worship in the sanctuary with their parents. There is also a special time during worship where the Children hear their very own children’s sermon lead by various adults in the church. There are also worship bags located at the doors of the Sanctuary if you were to need one for your child. The nursery is open for infants and children up to 4 years of age during both worship services.
Wednesday night classes create other learning and social opportunities for children ages Kindergarten through 5th grade. Each Wednesday night we enjoy fun and fellowship together. We sing, play, and learn about the Bible in fun and creative ways. Programming is held at night from 6:00 to 7:15, with a meal from 5:30 to 6:00. We follow the school calendar of the Marshall County School System. Nursery is also offered each week for kids from birth to pre-school.
For the Spring 2022 semester, we are focused on bringing the Bible to children through science experiments! What fun and exciting ways to learn about our God!
